About

Hello, I’m Sarah Wiseman. I have over 25 years’ experience of working in the environment sector, working for both NGOs and the public sector.  I’ve been a forest ranger, managed environmental education staff and projects, advised businesses about reducing their carbon footprint and I’m currently working part time on a project to create a long distance footpath.

I am a Certified Professional Coach and I have been coaching clients since 2018 in the areas of finding direction, career, work life balance and creativity.

I love working with people to help them figure out what they want to do next, and supporting them as they make that change.

I also like to paint, write and practice tai chi. You can see some of my art on the blog and also on my art website. Over the years I’ve been seeking balance in terms of my work, my creative projects and the rest of my life.

I chose a career in the environmental sector because I wanted to make a difference, help protect the natural world, connect people with nature and because I wanted to work outdoors. I have had some interesting jobs, spent time in beautiful places and worked with passionate, dedicated people. However I have also had jobs that I didn’t enjoy, and have spent far too much of my life commuting and working in open plan offices, which I’m not keen on! It often felt that each step up the career ladder was taking me further and further away from the things that attracted me to the sector in the first place.

For years I wondered how to create a life that combines creativity, spending time outdoors, doing something worthwhile and not having to work in an open plan office looking at a computer all day. Finally I feel like I’m starting to get there!

You will see my website combines my interest in coaching, nature, creativity and tai chi. I write about all the things that inspire me on here. I hope you enjoy reading it.

I live in the north west of England, on the edge of the beautiful Lake District National Park. It’s easy to be inspired when this is the view from the end of my street!
